Public spaces at the Human Rights Action Centre
Our facilities include a 250 seat auditorium (which can be divided to provide a 112 seat auditorium and breakout space), two meeting rooms and a seminar room suitable for workshops, training courses and smaller events. We also have a spacious reception area suitable for exhibitions and receptions.
The rooms are open to the public and are available for hire by organisations working in the field of human rights and social justice.

Sir Elton John Exhibition Hall
Our spacious reception area doubles as an exhibition space and can be hired by organisations holding events at the centre. Stand alone exhibitions may occasionally be held at the discretion of the programme manager. Evening receptions or private views can be arranged for up to 200 guests depending on the size of the exhibition. All exhibitions held at the centre must have a clear human rights theme.
Auditorium
The auditorium is a flexible space which can be used at full capacity to seat 250 people, or reduced in size for smaller events to hold 112 people. Seating arrangements are also flexible and can be discussed at the time of booking. Options include theatre style tiered seating, and 'cabaret'seating' around tables. The room can also be used empty if required. Stage set up is also flexible with a range of options for panel discussions, lectures, readings, live music and performance. Translation booths can be provided at an additional cost.
Action Room 2 and Garfield Weston Action Room
These meeting rooms can be used as breakout spaces for events taking place in the Auditorium, or as stand-alone meeting rooms. Located on the ground floor, the meeting rooms can hold up to 14 people seated boardroom style and 25 people seated theatre style. Whiteboards and flipcharts are available in these rooms, together with a PC and a 46' Lcd Screen. Action Room 2 has tea and coffee making facilities.
When booking the Auditorium, these rooms are included in the hire cost.
Conference Room
Located on the first floor mezzanine area, the conference room is a bright day lit room seating up to 22 boardroom style, 45 theatre style and 30 Cabaret style suitable for seminars, meetings and training days. Included in the room hire rate you will have access to IT/AV equipment.
Circulation Area
When hiring a meeting room at the HRAC, subject to availability you will have access to the circulation area: an open plan space located on the lower ground floor ideal for break periods where lunch and refreshments are served and delegates can network.
Sigrid Rausing Seminar Room
Located on the 3rd floor of the building, this room is suitable for larger meetings, workshops, seminars and training sessions. The room seats 30 people boardroom style and up to 50 people theatre style. The room is air conditioned and has a full range of audio visual equipment included in the room hire charge. The seminar room is available for hire Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm. Access via the lift only.
