Youth Urgent Action network

What is the Youth Urgent Action network?

We are a team of activists aged 11-18 who take rapid action to protect individuals at risk and end human rights violations wherever and whenever they occur.

Do urgent actions work?

YES! Rebiya Kadeer, ex-Prisoner of conscience, China, released from prison in 2005 after 6 years in detention said:

Rebiya-Kadeer-100"I don't believe that I would be alive today without the support of AI...Thanks to the many thousands of letters written by AI members, my detention conditions changed, I could see my children once a month and I received medical treatment. The support of AI gave me back my inner strength."

Of course, Amnesty rarely works alone on cases - these positive developments are often the result of the hard work and pressure applied by many organisations and individuals both within the country concerned and overseas.
