Throw a party for human rights

Protect the Human Week banner 2010

During Protect the Human Week, join thousands of people around the country by organising a party to raise funds and awareness for Amnesty International.

Parties are the perfect excuse to get friends, neighbours, colleagues - or even complete strangers - together in the name of human rights. From club nights to clothes swaps, pyjama parties to picnics... the possibilities are endless!

Protect the Human Week takes place from 16 to 22 October 2010. To get your party planning started, order your instant party kit today.

Reasons to celebrate

Amnesty International members can and do bring about positive change - and we think that's something to celebrate. Contact us to order leaflets about our work for your party. If your guests join Amnesty too, we can make an even bigger difference.

Parties mean prizes!

We will be awarding some fantastic prizes for the most money raised at a party and the most creative parties. Last year's winners included:

  • Cerdiwen Roberts, who held a dinner party and raised £2,045.
  • Dawn Wilson from Whitley Bay, who organised a party with an Elvis impersonator. Her entertainment, together with finding sponsors for the food, helped her to raise £965.
  • Sixteen year old Lily Kroll from London, who held a Protect the Human party to celebrate her birthday and raised £140. In keeping with the Seven Deadly Sins theme, her friends dressed in pyjamas for Sloth, giant human cupcakes for Gluttony and the hulk for Wrath, to name a few!
