HUMAN RIGHTS IN CHANGING TIMES

Financial crisis, emerging global powers and an upcoming general election in the UK. These are just some of the factors that will have an impact on human rights campaigning around the world.

What do these changes mean for Amnesty? Will they affect the way we campaign? What will our main priorities be over the coming years? This year's National Conference will address some of these questions and look back at the progress that we have made over the last five years.

Conference highlights

Keynote speaker: John Kampfner

Question Time Panel: Engaging with new global powers - the challenges and opportunities for human rights progress around the world
Sunday 11 April 11.00am - 12.30pm

The global power structure is changing. Today a new group of countries has growing influence over world affairs. It is widely accepted that in addition to the USA and Europe other countries such as Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa have become key players on the world stage.

During this session hear from experts on India, Brazil and South Africa and find out more about human rights issues at an international and local level.

And there's more...

You'll also have a chance to take part in a range of exciting and informative fringe talks and discussions; creative workshops; take action on behalf of people in the Niger Delta, find out more about fundraising opportunities and of course have your say in important debates
