Finances

Amnesty International is politically and financially independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion. Our governance, programmes and policies are non-partisan, independent of specific governments, political parties and the business sector.

To ensure our independence, we do not seek or accept money from governments or political parties. In no way do monies received from corporate donors influence or affect our ability to campaign.

Most of our funding depends on the contributions of our membership and fundraising activities. To safeguard the independence of the organisation, all contributors are strictly controlled by guidelines laid down by the International Council.
