Organisational structure
Amnesty International UK (AIUK) Section is one of over 50 nationally organised sections that make up Amnesty International worldwide membership organisation.
We have nearly 260,000 financial supporters in the UK, working together to improve human rights worldwide. We have offices in London, Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh and around 130 staff and 65 volunteers to coordinate the work of our members.
Amnesty International UK is governed by a national board of members elected by a ballot of the whole membership. A ballot is held whenever there are more candidates than places - this should take place every year. This board employs a director, who has overall responsibility for the management of the staff and offices and the management team, which comprises all the departmental directors. They are also the senior spokespeople for the UK Section.
The Section is made up of four departments: Campaigns, Marketing, Finance and Corporate Services.
