Iranian women's rights defenders
Women in Iran face widespread discrimination under law. They do not have equal rights with men in marriage, divorcee, child custody or inheritance.
In 2006, an Iranian women-led 'Campaign for Equality' was launched. Since then, women's rights activists have suffered harassment, intimidation and imprisonment at the hands of the Iranian authorities.
Educational materialsWe have produced interactive and informative materials on violence against women linked to the curricula for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Find out more and download the resources |
