Picking winners was as difficult as always, however some groups really did go above and beyond so, without further ado, here are the winners:
Best Fundraisers
Once again the University of Exeter group were the most successful fundraising group - that's 3 years in a row now. Since their first title in 2011 they have raised nearly £15,000 for Amnesty. Keep up the good work, Exeter!
Most Regular Fundraisers Best Fundraising Most Individual Members Best Campaign Action
The University of Cardiff group took the prize in this category. Once again, they held so many events over the course of the year that we lost count of them. Thank you to the Cardiff group for working tirelessly throughout the year to support vital human rights work.
The University of Glasgow group broke the record that they set last year by raising over £2000 at their annual Secret Policeman's Ball event. It's going to be tough to beat them next year but I'm sure there are fundraisers out there who are up for the challenge.
Our University of York group managed to recruit more members than any other group in the country last year. Recruiting new members to Amnesty is vital to keeping the movement strong and effective - thank you, York University!
Queen's University Belfast group won this category with their inspiring march on Belfast City Hall in support of the Arms Trade Treaty. As you all are no doubt aware, Amnesty worked on this campaign for many years and a treaty was finally passed back in April. We're proud of the role Amnesty played in getting this treaty passed and think the Belfast group's march encapsulated the spirit of the campaign.
