Make a Will Fortnight takes place in March every year. The 2013 scheme has passed, but we'll update this page with details of the 2014 Make A Will Fortnight at the start of next year. |
Making a Will, and keeping it updated, is really important. If you've been meaning to put your affairs in order, here's the perfect opportunity.
During Make a Will Fortnight you can make or update your Will for free or a donation at one of many participating solicitors. By seeking legal advice, you can be sure that you won't leave behind any misunderstandings or additional stress for your loved ones.
Each firm is free to set its own terms for participating though they will not benefit financially from the arrangement. Please be aware that appointments may be limited and complicated Wills may incur additional costs. Please contact your nearest solicitor to confirm and make an appointment during the fortnight.
While making your Will, please remember that gifts left in Wills are a great way to support the causes that you care about. The funding we receive from gifts in Wills is much lower than many other organisations.
It would mean a great deal to our work if you were able to leave us a gift in your Will. By leaving even a small gift to us, you can ensure that your beliefs and your commitment to human rights live on. If you would like to include us in your Will you can use the suggested wording on the PDF below. If you would like to add Amnesty to an existing will you can download a simple codicil form to take to your appointment.
The solicitors who take part in Make a Will Fortnight kindly donate their time and skills to support our work. The average cost of making a Will is around £250, so even if you do not feel able to leave a gift in your Will, you may wish to make a donation to us. Your solicitor may suggest this in lieu of their normal fee.
