AmnesTeas are fundraising events of all shapes and sizes with some things in common: tea, cake and the will to make a difference and stand together against human rights abuses.

Whether it's a small, fuss-free occasion at home or a bigger event in a public space, school or workplace, hosting an AmnesTea is so simple and fun it's little wonder that thousands of people across the country have come together over the years to raise a toast to freedom with a good brew and a cake or two.

    Maybe you'll host a prize-winning tea

    There are prizes to be won for the most outstanding contributions to AmnesTea in 2013! It's not all about raising big sums, there's something for everyone. The categories are:

    • Top fundraising tea - the most raised in one event
    • Top quirky tea - the most outlandish theme or unusual location
    • Top tea pic - the best photo of your event or guests

    To be in with a chance of winning, you need to send us your funds, photos and details of your event before 30 November 2013.

    TEA AND SOLIDARITY

    Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) has been campaigning for human rights in Zimbabwe for ten years. Over that decade, members of the group have been repeatedly arrested, harassed and beaten by police - but they continue to speak out about social and economic injustice. 

    RoseYour tea party guests could send a rose in support of WOZA

    WOZA uses roses to show that 'the power of love can conquer the love of power'. Show your support for this courageous group and help them stand up to the Zimbabwe government. Draw or make a paper rose, write a rose-themed poem or send a rosey card with your message.
