From September 2012 to June 2013, you have the chance to prove you're one of Amnesty's best student fundraising groups and win a prize in our annual fundraising contest, the Student Raise-Off. There is a very strict deadline for all fundraising and competition entries as part of the Raise-Off, so put 7 June in your diaries!

Get inspired: Bradford University Bake Sale

Yummy cakes On Valentine's Day Bradford University Amnesty group held a screening of Call Me Kuchu, a documentary about gay rights activists in Uganda, and sold homemade cakes before and after. They raised a grand total of £236.47. This event is sure to be a contender in the Best Fundraising category for its successful combination of campaign message with fundraising event!

Some universities go all out for Amnesty all year round - and we love that!

BEST FUNDRAISING EVENT

This is the toughest category to judge and the most hotly-contested! There are not set criteria: we broadly look for creativity, innovation, mass participation and lots of money raised.

MOST INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIPS

Encourage your fellow students to become Amnesty International UK student members and their £7.50 annual membership fee will be added to your Raise-Off total.

2. Hold your amazing fundraising event.

3. Enter your event for the competition.

4. Got money to send in? To appear on the league table, make sure you send in the money you've raised as soon as you can.

Student activists are renowned for their headline-grabbing campaign actions. The award goes to the group that has the greatest impact and organises the most creative campaign action.

"The Amnesty group here at Cardiff University got off to a flying start this year in their Freshers Week raising £453.04 by holding Secret Policeman's Ball comedy night! The evening was a real success with a wide range of comedy, a lot of cocktails, stick-on moustaches (of course!) and even a twister competition! I cannot thank everyone involved enough for all their hard work and efforts. They do say that laughter is the best medicine and in this case it was also a great fundraiser!"
