Adapted from Dublin born writer John Boyne’s best-selling novel, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is set during WWII, and tells the story of Bruno, a nine-year-old boy from a prominent family whose father is a Commandant in the Kraków concentration camp. There he meets Shmuel, a boy with whom he shares the same birthday and who lives a strange parallel existence on the other side of the camp fence. Bruno’s forbidden friendship with Shmuel will have startling and devastating consequences in this story of innocence in the midst of the most terrible evil.
